CPM-3V steps up into another league from 1095 steel. It is a powder steel that is very consistent and is known for its extreme toughness. CPM-3V is the steel I would choose if I had to bet my life on the durability of my blade. The hardness and toughness is beyond anything 1095 steel can offer. CPM-3V is best sharpened on a diamond stone due to its harness. Although CPM-3V is not a stainless steel, it does very well in terms of rust resistance. As long as it is kept dry, you shouldn't have any corrosion issues. I have carried a CPM-3V knife for nearly a year in humid Alabama with zero signs of rust. We occasionally have cerakoted versions of these blades for sale.
